If you don’t fancy snorkelling or scuba diving, you can always just take in the stunning Kaputas Beach and cove, which is about 18km west of the town.

If you can tear yourself away from the coast, a trip up into the mountains is well worth the effort. From here, you can enjoy trekking, rock climbing, mountain biking and canyoning experiences. The sunsets are also brilliant.

Those who want to take in a little of the region’s history can drive their rental vehicle to one of the many ancient ruins which can be found nearby, including ruins at Xanthos and Patara, where St Nicholas was born.
